Rosalie Rodriguez is a proud product of a public school art education which she received growing up in Buffalo, NY in the 1980’s. Thanks to the extensive art classes that were available in her public schools from the time she was young, she learned the fundamentals of drawing, painting, shading, photography and the importance of light and color balance. Public school art allowed her to explore her creative side in a way that her working class family would not have been able to provide otherwise. She continues to advocate for public education and especially art and music in school . These classes are not necessarily to meant to help students make a living, but to make a life.

Currently, Rosalie pushes the limits of the acrylic medium by adding texture and bold color combinations to her unique perspective. Her photography captures light in motion through a global palette. Many of these photos were taken during service trips that she lead while working at Juniata College.

Rosalie’s gemstone jewelry is made with careful attention to the healing energies from natural gemstones and sacred patterns in her metalwork.

Rosalie's art is informed by her passion for justice and human connection. She wants her art to simultaneously create wonderment and always remain accessible. Rosalie is the Senior Associate Dean of Students for Equity & Inclusion. She lives in Colorado Springs, CO with her partner and furbabies, two 75 lb lapdogs, Kodi and Luna and the memory of the angel that was Fin, who will remain forever in her heart.
