On a unexpectedly short trip to Puerto Rico, I was blessed to visit the home-studio of Afro-Puerto Rican painter, Samuel Lind. I did not know the name but as soon as I stepped onto the property an immense feeling of peace came over me. Before I even walked in, I was taking video in hopes of capturing the magic I was feeling. When I walked in, my breath left me. The work I was seeing was all familiar, the faces, the sculptures the paintings….I had unknowingly been collecting them for years and here they were, here he was…

Due to a series of earthquakes that rocked the island, we had to leave after only a few days, but those days remain some of the most impactful experiences of my life.
